Classic Hardwood Mouldings

Jolly Woodchopper in the past has offered an extensive line of custom hardwood picture mouldings, along with custom picture framing. I've recently stopped the custom framing so I could spend more time with my furniture orders. You can still get my custom hand built frames a couple of ways. If you purchase a Woodchopper print, framing is always available. I also have my line of finished corner frames available at Mitrebox Framing in Minneapolis. They can make any framing project you might have come together with class and style that I know you'll love. And you can also choose from hundreds of other frame samples. Even if they're not a Jolly Woodchopper original.

Styles & Joinery

Jolly Woodchopper creates all hardwood picture frames from the same beautiful wood species used in furniture. Milled from quarter sawn oak, cherry, walnut, mahogany, figured & bird's eye maple, padauk, zebra wood, lacewood, each frame adds class with beautiful grain and flowing lines. Frames are joined using either hardwood dowels, splines or various tenon styles. Splines are made from hardwoods such as walnut, cocobolo or ebony, and offer a simple decorative joint that is extremly strong. Tenon corners are offered in various styles, with or without dowel details. These frames are an excellent choice when being placed in a craftsman style setting.
