By the work one knows the workman. Jean de la Fontaine

My backround is deeply rooted in Illustration and printmaking. I received a BFA from the College of Visual Arts in Saint Paul, MN. In my early career I worked as a freelance illustrator, and printmaker. My medium of choice was the woodcut which is how I learned to carve. I quickly developed a passion for beautiful wood, interesting furniture, and extraordinary architecture. I am a self taught woodworker and am always looking for a new challenge. I still create woodblock prints, and am constantly drawing. Currently I've been focused on my three dimensional work.
My work is influenced by Art Nouveau, the Arts and Crafts movement, Japanese aesthetics, Modernism, inspiring architecture, ancient trees, owls, music, traveling, and amazing gardens..... to name a few.
I currently live in Andover, MN (about thirty minutes North of Mpls.) with my wife Heather. If I'm not in my shop, I may have wandered out to work in our gardens, restore our sailboat, or play fetch with our Prembroke Corgi "Scarlett", my only employee.
